Work description
NOISY URBAN CORNER
Contemplating the material world around me, I notice that what I see and what I receive through the other senses is in fact nothing more than the perception of differences in the intensity of stimuli in a unit of time.
Simple contrasts, dark-light, quiet-loud, soft-hard, etc, form a fine sensory web that is the only way to realize the layers of this material world.
I place this sound installation in a noisy urban corner. The passer-by, the listener, while using headphones senses an alternative acoustic reality, an ambience of completely opposite variables from those that are/were around him.
The tight, almost closed space in which tens and hundreds of different frequencies "buzz" that move and change rapidly, is replaced by the sound of a distant fishing boat breaking through the silence of the calm sea, while slowly and patiently becoming louder.
